Băutura nelipsită din casele noastre: s-a răspândit la nivel global și a devenit un ritual social
The culture of coffee has transformed from hospitality and cafes to a global ritual influenced by trade and social changes. Originating in Ethiopia, coffee became a significant social element in Arabia and Europe. The first International Coffee Day is celebrated on October 1. Coffee's journey began with a legend about an Ethiopian shepherd named Kaldi. The coffee beans, actually seeds from coffee cherries, undergo a process of harvesting, drying, and roasting. Yemen played a crucial role in coffee cultivation and trade, particularly through the port of Mocha. Coffee has evolved through religious practices and social institutions before becoming a global commodity. In many cultures, serving coffee is a social act, symbolizing generosity and hospitality. The first coffee houses emerged in the Islamic world and later became popular in Europe. Coffee is recognized by UNESCO for its cultural significance, and October 1 is officially designated as International Coffee Day by the UN.
