Bătălia pentru miliardele UE: Nicușor Dan și Giorgia Meloni mobilizează 17 state împotriva reducerii fondurilor europene
President Nicușor Dan, alongside Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, has gathered 17 EU member states to advocate for the preservation of agricultural and cohesion funding in the upcoming EU budget for 2028-2034. This initiative comes as Germany and five other countries push for significant budget cuts. The 17 states have sent a joint letter to the Irish Prime Minister, emphasizing the need to maintain nearly 900 billion euros in future budget expenditures. They aim to secure funding for agriculture, cohesion, and additional priorities like security and energy resilience. The negotiations are expected to be challenging, with a deadline for agreement set before the end of the year to avoid disruptions from upcoming national elections.
