A man impersonating a police officer in Oradea has been charged for extorting money from drivers under the pretense of issuing fines. He was arrested in July and is currently in preventive custody. The individual wore a police uniform and stopped drivers, demanding payments to avoid fines and license confiscation. In one incident, he extorted 2,200 lei from a BMW driver, and in another, he took 2,000 lei from a Range Rover driver. He faces charges of usurpation of official quality and continuous fraud.
