Alin Dat, who previously drove Călin Georgescu in Oradea, demanded his release from custody in a video message, threatening that supporters might take over executive and judicial powers if he is not freed. This message came after Georgescu was placed in preventive detention for 30 days by the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Dat emphasized that Georgescu is their elected president and warned of consequences for authorities if they fail to act. Both Georgescu and businessman Ionel Rusen are under investigation for forming a criminal group and fraud. The court upheld the detention based on the prosecution's appeal.
