The Ministry of Education has received 709 funding requests for the 'PRIMII' program aimed at supporting vulnerable primary school students. With a budget of over 1.21 billion lei, the initiative targets around 50,000 children from 2026 to 2029 to prevent school dropout. The program expands previous measures against dropout in secondary education to primary schools, focusing on those with the greatest needs. Education Minister Mihai Dimian highlighted the positive response to simplified application procedures, which will nearly double standard funding for vulnerable students. Funds will support after-school programs, individualized lessons, and necessary resources for students and their families.
