The program aims to boost domestic production and reduce reliance on imports. The Minister of Agriculture, Tanczos Barna, announced that the initiative has resumed after a one-year hiatus, with a total budget of over 26 million lei. Farmers must prove they have marketed their production to receive payments, which are scheduled by December 22, 2026. Although the initial proposal was for higher support, the minister views this as a significant step for the sector.
