Banca Mondială: România își reduce deficitul bugetar, dar economia va scădea | E singura țară din regiune cu economie în scădere

The World Bank predicts a challenging economic outlook for Romania in 2026, with a projected GDP contraction of 0.5%. Despite implementing the most ambitious fiscal adjustment in the region, the country faces rising energy costs and a significant impact from budgetary consolidation. Public investments are expected to remain high at around 8% of GDP, supported by European funds. The report anticipates a recovery in subsequent years, with GDP growth of approximately 1.7% in 2027 and 2% in 2028. Romania is expected to be the only economy in Central Europe to contract in 2026, contrasting with growth forecasts for neighboring countries. The report also highlights Romania's progress in digital, fiscal, and energy reforms, while cautioning against reliance on the automotive industry and the need for better adaptation to artificial intelligence.
