Banca Mondială estimează o scădere economică de 0,5% în România, în 2026
The World Bank predicts a challenging economic outlook for Romania in 2026, with a projected GDP contraction of 0.5%. Despite implementing significant fiscal adjustments and maintaining public investments at around 8% of GDP, the country faces rising energy costs and a tightening fiscal policy. The budget deficit is expected to decrease to 6% of GDP, but this consolidation will dampen domestic demand. Romania is anticipated to be the only Central European economy to contract in 2026, while a recovery is expected in subsequent years, with growth rates of 1.7% in 2027 and 2% in 2028. The report also highlights the potential of artificial intelligence to boost productivity, although adoption remains low due to various barriers.
