Diana Buzoianu, interim Minister of Environment, claims that a report from the Control Body revealed systemic issues at the National Meteorological Administration (ANM). She asserts that ANM's leadership, particularly Elena Mateescu, was aware of irregularities in direct purchases as early as November 2025. Buzoianu highlights that an anonymous email warned ANM employees about these issues, which Mateescu dismissed as false. Following a control initiated by Buzoianu, significant resignations occurred within ANM's procurement department. The report identified numerous systemic problems, prompting Buzoianu to call for the resignation of ANM's leadership and to forward the findings to the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of Accounts. Mateescu, however, denies any wrongdoing and claims she is a target of a political campaign.
