Avram Iancu, a swimmer from Petroșani, has embarked on a challenge to swim across the English Channel using the breaststroke. He anticipates the crossing will take about 20 hours, facing physical pain and mental discomfort. His swim is monitored by two official observers to ensure compliance with the rules, including equipment checks and food intake. Iancu has previously achieved significant open water swimming feats, including being the first person to swim across Europe without a wetsuit. Only 12 individuals have successfully swum the Channel using the breaststroke.
