Avertismentul șefei CPI, după sancțiunile impuse de SUA: Să nu lăsăm asta să fie începutul declinului statului de drept internațional
The President of the International Criminal Court, Tomoko Akane, expressed concerns that U.S. sanctions against her could threaten international legal order. She emphasized the need to prevent this from marking the decline of the rule of law globally. Akane acknowledged she anticipated the sanctions but stressed their implications for international justice. The U.S. imposed these sanctions as part of a campaign against what it describes as a corrupt and politicized organization. The ICC has previously issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu related to the Gaza conflict.
