Ryanair warns that high oil prices may threaten competitors' survival this winter, leading to increased ticket prices for short-haul flights. The airline has reduced its traffic target for next year to manage fuel consumption amid rising oil costs, which have surged due to Middle East conflicts. Currently, jet fuel prices have risen by 8.2% in a month, reaching about $156 per barrel, with a year-on-year increase of 74.2%. Ryanair has secured 80% of its fuel needs for 2027 at $67 per barrel, but uncontracted fuel will be purchased at current high prices, prompting the airline to limit exposure during the less profitable winter season.
