Avertisment dur pentru România după scandalul azilelor din Bihor. Consiliul Europei cere inclusiv legi penale. „Sunt denumite beneficiari, în loc de titulari cu drepturi depline”
The Council of Europe’s Human Rights Commissioner, Michael O'Flaherty, addressed concerns about Romania's treatment of vulnerable individuals in a letter to the dismissed Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. Following his visit in May 2026, he highlighted issues in the care system, emphasizing the need for a more integrated approach to support vulnerable populations. O'Flaherty noted the persistent lack of care services and the exclusion of the most vulnerable from support systems. He called for better funding, legal reforms, and enhanced monitoring of care facilities. Meanwhile, Viorel Pașca, involved in a controversial care facility case, expressed his desire to continue helping vulnerable individuals despite legal challenges.
