The National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) warns of new fraud attempts in Romania involving fake phone calls claiming victims are involved in money laundering at the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Attackers impersonate financial analysts from the National Office for Prevention and Combating Money Laundering, urging victims to act quickly. Additionally, phishing emails using the branding of Provident Financial Romania may be sent, requesting personal and banking information under false pretenses. The DNSC advises individuals not to share sensitive information over the phone, to verify calls through official channels, and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
