Avertisment al ministrului de Finanțe. Alexandru Nazare: Reducerea deficitului bugetar nu poate fi amânată

Romania has shifted from a debt-financed consumption economy to one focused on long-term investments, according to Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare. He noted a significant reduction in the budget deficit and emphasized the need for continued fiscal consolidation. The deficit decreased from 9.3% of GDP in 2024 to an estimated 6.2% in 2026, marking Romania's second consecutive year of the largest deficit reduction in the EU. Despite this progress, Nazare highlighted the ongoing challenge of high debt refinancing costs. Investments have risen, largely supported by European funds, and the government aims to prioritize development and infrastructure over current expenditures. The goal is to sustain purchasing power through productivity and real income rather than debt and inflation.
