Avantajele şi dezavantajele unui credit în euro, în comparaţie cu unul în lei
Recent interest rate hikes by the European Central Bank have increased costs for borrowers with euro loans. While euro loans offer lower interest rates, they come with exchange rate risks, especially as the euro approaches historical highs. Borrowers earning in lei may face higher monthly payments if the euro strengthens. Financial experts recommend aligning loan currency with income currency to mitigate risks. The ECB's recent rate increase to 2.5% may lead to higher variable rate payments, and analysts predict continued global interest rate hikes. Currently, 90% of Romanian loans are in lei, reflecting a shift from euro loans since 2010.
