A large search and rescue operation is underway in Pakistan after an avalanche on Broad Peak left ten climbers missing. Among the missing is renowned climber Nirmal Purja. The Pakistan Alpine Club confirmed the deaths of two climbers and reported that four individuals have been identified. The group was caught in the avalanche during their ascent of the 8,047-meter peak, losing radio contact shortly after. Romanian climber Horia Colibășanu expressed his support for the rescue teams and families involved, highlighting the challenging conditions in the Himalayas this season. Rescue teams are waiting for favorable weather to proceed with their efforts.
