The Suplacu de Barcău - Chiribiș highway section will open on December 1, Romania's National Day, as announced by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Horațiu Cosma. The construction has surpassed 90% completion, with final works ongoing, particularly near Suplacu de Barcău. This section has a long history of delays and contract cancellations, initially started by Bechtel over 20 years ago. The project was resumed by Erbașu in 2023, marking progress towards the long-awaited opening.
