Autostrada Sibiu-Pitești: Stadiul lucrărilor pe Secțiunea 3 a ajuns la 19%

The physical progress of Section 3 (Cornetu – Tigveni) of the Sibiu – Pitești Highway is at 19%, according to Cristian Pistol, director of CNAIR. The Italian-Romanian construction consortium is currently working on earthworks and structures across 30% of the site with 1,200 workers and 522 machines. A revised Environmental Agreement is awaited to release construction permits for other sections. Work is ongoing at the Poiana Tunnel, the first highway tunnel in Romania built with TBM technology. Additionally, excavation and foundation work is being done at the Călinești ecoduct, and progress is being made on 10 out of 55 bridge structures. The contract for this section is valued at 5.323 billion lei, funded through the Transport Program.
