The Tigveni - Curtea de Argeș section of the Sibiu - Pitești Highway may open by the end of this year if construction continues at the current pace. The project is nearly 97% complete, with the Momaia Tunnel almost finished. The Austrian company PORR is responsible for the construction, which has a contract deadline of February 2027. If the current progress is maintained, traffic could start earlier than planned, adding nearly ten kilometers to the operational highway network. This section is crucial for improving connectivity between Sibiu and Pitești.
