The A7 highway section near Bacău is temporarily closed for two weeks to connect with ongoing construction. Traffic is redirected through the city during this period. The closure, requested by the contractor UMB, aims to facilitate the integration of new segments of the highway. UMB is under pressure to complete the works by the PNRR deadline of August 31, 2026, with significant funding from the EU. Currently, about 200 kilometers of the A7 are open, while 121 kilometers are under construction, all financed through PNRR. Additional segments are contracted for future development.
