The A8 highway project in Romania is advancing with a new feasibility study for a 125 km section in Moldova. This segment will connect Ungheni to Budești, facilitating a route to Chișinău and Odesa. The Moldovan authorities have announced a tender for the study, which will include traffic studies, environmental assessments, and land identification for construction. The estimated contract value is approximately 87.88 million Moldovan lei, funded by the Road Fund. Interested companies can submit bids until September 21, 2026. This project marks a significant step in enhancing road connectivity between Romania and Moldova, with plans for construction to begin soon.
