The Brașov–Făgăraș highway project has reached government approval after public consultation. It includes nearly 50 kilometers of highway, 46 bridges, and six tunnel structures, with an estimated investment of over 9.35 billion lei. Funding will come from European funds and the state budget. The highway aims to enhance national and regional connectivity between Brașov and Făgăraș, linking to the Făgăraș–Sibiu segment. The project outlines a 49.75 km route with a 26-meter wide platform, including service areas and a maintenance center. The highway will cover 663 hectares and pass through several localities, with a key junction at Șercaia connecting to major roads.
