Autostrada A8: primii kilometri, deschiși în 2027

Construction on the Târgu Mureș – Miercurea Nirajului section of the A8 highway is nearing 70% completion, with the first kilometers expected to open in spring 2027. The initial segment between Târgu Mureș and Acățari will serve as a southern bypass for the city. Nearly 90% of earthworks are done, and half of the asphalt has been laid. Over 800 workers and 700 machines are on site. The entire 24-kilometer section is projected to be operational by next year, with further plans for the segment to Sovata underway. The A8 highway aims to connect Târgu Mureș to Moldova's border at Ungheni.
