The Secretary of State for Transport, Horațiu Cosma, reported fines totaling nearly €117,000 for overweight vehicles on the A0 Sud highway. He urged CNAIR to initiate urgent repairs funded by the contractor due to numerous deficiencies since the highway's opening. Following inspections of 97 vehicles, significant violations were confirmed, including excessive weight and ignoring traffic restrictions. A total of 589,000 lei in fines were issued in just two days. Cosma emphasized the need for compliance to protect infrastructure and ensure safety for law-abiding transporters. He called for immediate action to address construction defects under warranty.
