Autoritatea Electorală Permanentă pregătește o reformă a votului în România

The Romanian Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) plans significant changes to future electoral processes, aiming to reduce costs and simplify logistics. This includes eliminating traditional voting stamps and stickers, and potentially introducing smart ballot boxes that can scan votes. A pilot project will test new technologies this fall. AEP's president, Adrian Ţuţuianu, emphasized the need to modernize outdated electoral logistics and proposed simplifying ballots, especially for local elections. He also called for expanded legal powers for AEP to manage elections more effectively, reducing the roles of local authorities. Additionally, AEP aims to reform the training of electoral experts and enhance democratic education programs to combat misinformation among youth.
