Australia, "indignată" de decizia Israelului de a închide o anchetă privind moartea unor lucrători umanitari în Gaza
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed outrage over Israel's decision to close the investigation into the deaths of humanitarian worker Zomi Frankcom and her colleagues in Gaza. Frankcom was among seven World Central Kitchen employees killed in an Israeli airstrike in April 2024. Wong summoned the Israeli ambassador to Australia and emphasized the need for accountability, stating that the decision is particularly insulting given the timing on World Humanitarian Day. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged the military's mistake but the army announced no criminal investigation would be opened. The Israeli ambassador reiterated that there was no intention to harm humanitarian workers.
