Aurul Rusiei ocolește sancțiunile. Câștigul Moscovei din scumpirea metalului prețios, aproape cât activele înghețate în UE

After Western sanctions limited traditional trade routes, Russian gold has found a significant market in Asia, particularly in Hong Kong. In the first seven months of 2026, nearly 100 tons of Russian gold were imported, marking a substantial increase compared to previous years. Hong Kong has emerged as a key importer since the Ukraine war began, with imports reaching record levels. The U.S. and G7 countries imposed sanctions on Russian gold, blocking access to major trading centers like London. However, Hong Kong, which has a more lenient import regime, has facilitated the flow of Russian gold, some of which is later sent to mainland China. Despite Western efforts to curb Russia's war funding, gold deliveries to Hong Kong continue to rise, highlighting a shift in trade dynamics.
