AUR's amendment to the Integrity Law mandates that spouses and partners of high-ranking officials in Romania must declare their assets and interests. This change aims to enhance transparency and prevent potential conflicts of interest. The amendment was approved by the Legal Committee of the Chamber of Deputies and will be included in the final bill for voting. AUR argues that the current law allows for asset transfers to avoid public scrutiny, and this modification seeks to close that loophole. The Integrity Law, initially proposed by USR and PNL, is set for discussion in an extraordinary session of the Chamber.
