AUR propune reguli noi pentru comercializarea sării iodate și neiodate

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians has proposed a law to allow both iodized and non-iodized salt in stores. This initiative aims to diversify consumer choices and establish clear regulations for salt sales. The bill seeks to remove the mandatory iodization of salt for human consumption, enabling consumers to choose freely between the two types. Retailers will be required to offer both options and label them clearly. Senator Ștefan Geamănu emphasizes the importance of consumer choice and cites health concerns related to excessive iodine intake. The proposal includes regulations for iodine concentration control and penalties for non-compliance, ranging from 10,000 to 40,000 lei.
