AUR propune reducerea TVA la 9% pentru prima locuință

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) has proposed a legislative initiative to reduce VAT on first homes from 21% to 9%. This initiative, led by AUR deputy Lucian Mușat, targets first homes with a maximum area of 120 square meters and a value of up to 750,000 lei, excluding VAT. The aim is to make home ownership more accessible, especially for young people and families, and to stimulate the construction sector. The proposed law would take effect six months after its publication in the Official Gazette. Mușat emphasized the importance of this measure for boosting the economy and increasing birth rates in Romania.
