Andrei Nemțișor, a ninth-grade student from Iași, achieved the highest score at the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics for Juniors, winning a gold medal. This marks his sixth international medal and fourth gold. The competition took place from September 22-28, 2026, with 55 participants from 13 countries. Romania ranked first in the national standings, securing three gold and one bronze medal. Andrei has excelled in both informatics and mathematics, previously winning gold at the European Olympiad in Informatics and the Balkan Olympiad in Mathematics in 2026.
