Marathon hearings continue in the bribery case involving Prime Minister Bolojan, with more witnesses and defendants expected to testify. Yesterday, Valeriu Iftime, President of Botoșani County Council, was questioned for nearly two hours as a witness regarding businessman Fănel Bogos. Cristina Trăilă, Bolojan's subordinate and a suspect in the case, lost her job at the government. Iftime claims his relationship with the head of ANSVSA led to his questioning, denying any knowledge of wrongdoing. The hearings coincided with Trăilă's resignation, although she remained in office until mid-September. Bolojan confirmed a meeting with Bogos, who allegedly offered a €1.5 million bribe to meet him, stating he cannot isolate himself from such situations.
