The National Cyberint Center reported sending 1,304 alerts about cybersecurity vulnerabilities to public institutions from 2021 to 2026. The discussions in parliamentary committees focused on a ransomware attack on the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration (ANCPI) that disrupted real estate transactions for nearly a month. The attack exploited critical vulnerabilities, including weak passwords and outdated systems. ANCPI officials stated that operations could resume fully next week, while concerns were raised about the overall cybersecurity preparedness of public institutions in Romania. Lawmakers emphasized the need for better awareness and response to cyber threats.
