One year after the explosion in Rahova, safety works have commenced on the affected building. Workers are installing 480 support pillars and wearing body cameras to monitor progress. The operation is expected to last about ten days, with a crane and large cutting tool to assist in the demolition of upper floors. Residents above the fifth floor will not be allowed to enter their apartments, but they will have opportunities to recover valuable items. A comprehensive evaluation of the building was completed prior to these works, following the tragic explosion that resulted in three fatalities.
