Demolition of the old Corvinul Hunedoara stadium has begun, with the west side being dismantled first. The project is expected to finish in six months, potentially allowing for new stadium construction to start in early 2027. Mayor Dan Bobouțanu emphasized the importance of this transition, noting the old stadium's inability to meet current standards. The demolition contract was signed on September 28, and funding comes from the local budget. The new arena will cost 54 million euros, with Hunedoara contributing 25% of the construction costs.
