Starting August 12, strong winds will create hazardous conditions, including powerful rip currents that can pull swimmers out to sea. Tourists are advised to exercise caution, especially when entering the water, and to heed lifeguard warnings. Visual indicators of rip currents include darker water and areas where waves do not break. If caught in a rip current, swimmers should swim parallel to the shore and then diagonally back to safety.
