At least nine people died and 20 were injured in a suicide bombing near a police station in Swat, Pakistan, during a protest. The attacker detonated an explosive vest after being stopped by police. Four police officers were among the deceased, with several injured in critical condition. The region faces an ongoing insurgency from the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has been active since 2007. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, amid rising violence along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
