Cyberattacks exploiting device-code phishing have surged by 1,380%, with hackers using AI to craft personalized deceptive messages. This method bypasses traditional security measures, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access to accounts without needing passwords. The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate reported a significant increase in such attacks, highlighting the use of tools like EvilTokens to facilitate phishing campaigns. In a recent wave of attacks, 344 entities across five countries were targeted, with each phishing message uniquely tailored. Microsoft noted that AI-generated phishing messages have a much higher success rate, with 54% of recipients clicking on malicious links compared to 12% for other types.
