Between October 13-15, Brașov police conducted an operation to prevent and combat illegal activities in the forestry sector. The checks involved collaboration with the Forest Guard and the Forestry Directorate to verify the legality of wood transport and its origin. A total of 16 businesses and 144 transport vehicles were inspected, resulting in 39 fines totaling 72,000 lei. Of these, 25 fines were for violations of forestry legislation, amounting to 63,000 lei. Additionally, three criminal offenses related to the Forestry Code were identified, leading to the confiscation of 242 cubic meters of illegally sourced wood valued at 67,000 lei. The operation aimed to ensure compliance among businesses involved in wood processing and transport.
