Two commercial ships were attacked by drones off the coast of Bulgaria, resulting in one sinking and the crew of the other being rescued. Bulgarian authorities are investigating the incident, which marks the first drone attack on vessels in Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone. The Bulgarian ferry DIOSCURIA assisted in the rescue operation, successfully evacuating the crew of the ship ABLE, which caught fire. Another Togolese-flagged vessel suffered severe damage and sank, with its crew reported missing. The Bulgarian government has not commented on the attack, and a meeting was convened to assess the situation. These incidents raise concerns about maritime security in the Black Sea region, following a similar attack on a Turkish ship just days earlier.
