A ransomware attack on the National Administration of Penitentiaries disrupted operations at Oradea Prison, halting phone calls and online visit scheduling for inmates. The IT team quickly contacted the National Cyber Security Directorate to mitigate the impact. While investigations are ongoing, the administration has suspended several IT services and is implementing alternative communication methods for inmates. Daily phone calls are limited to five minutes, and physical requests will replace online scheduling. The administration is working to restore services and maintain inmate-family connections.
