Astronomii au creat cea mai mare hartă 2D a Universului

Astronomers have created the largest 2D map of the universe, featuring nearly 4 billion cosmic objects and covering three-quarters of the visible sky. This map, developed by the Legacy Imaging Surveys team as part of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) project, combines over 263,000 exposures taken over more than a decade. The data allows for the identification of billions of stars and galaxies, aiding in the understanding of cosmic expansion and dark energy. DESI aims to produce a 3D map of the universe by 2026, enhancing our knowledge of cosmic structures and the evolution of galaxies.
