AstraZeneca abandonează un studiu de fază III pentru cancer pulmonar. Ce s-a întâmplat cu medicamentul testat
AstraZeneca has halted a Phase III clinical trial of volrustomig for lung cancer treatment due to low survival benefit. This marks the second setback for the company in recent weeks. The decision followed an independent data monitoring committee's recommendation. Despite this, AstraZeneca plans to continue evaluating volrustomig for other cancers. Positive results were reported for Enhertu in non-small cell lung cancer, leading to a Phase III study. Investors reacted favorably, with shares rising by about 2%. Lung cancer remains a significant challenge in oncology, accounting for nearly 23% of cancer-related deaths.
