ASTRA: 13 solicitări pentru Parlament și Președinte privind redresarea competitivității transportului rutier românesc
The ASTRA Transport and Logistics Employers' Association, supported by APULUM and CONAF, presented 13 requests to the Romanian Parliament and President to enhance the competitiveness of the national road transport sector. They highlighted the limitations of the recently enacted Law 162/2026, which addresses fuel pricing but does not provide a permanent solution for transporters. The law's measures, including a temporary reduction in diesel excise, are set to expire soon, leaving the sector vulnerable. Romanian transport operators face high fuel costs compared to their European counterparts, leading to significant losses for the state budget as many choose to refuel abroad. The current compensation scheme for excise duties is limited and lacks a legislative successor, affecting a small fraction of the industry.
