Asociația Română pentru Iluminat avertizează: Stingerea becurilor pe străzi aduce economii mici și riscuri mari

The Romanian Lighting Association (A.R.I.) warns that the partial or total shutdown of street lighting by some municipalities during the energy crisis poses safety risks without significantly impacting the national energy system. A.R.I. highlights that Romania has invested billions in public lighting modernization, yet many systems are underutilized or ineffective. The association argues that public lighting accounts for only about 1% of peak national energy consumption, and controlled dimming could achieve energy savings without compromising safety. A.R.I. also calls for audits of public funds used for lighting modernization and better management of energy consumption.
