The UDMR amendment to eliminate the obligation for local elected officials to choose between their mandate and a public sector job was approved in committee. This change allows local officials to hold both positions without conflict. Additionally, PSD withdrew its proposal to postpone the law's application until 2029. USR attempted to protect Timișoara's mayor, Dominic Fritz, from losing his mandate due to a conflict of interest, but their amendment was not passed.
