Asfalt eco: Barcelona va testa asfalt produs din sâmburi de măsline, biomasă de pin și materiale de construcții reciclate

Barcelona plans to test two types of eco-friendly asphalt aimed at enhancing street sustainability and resilience to extreme temperatures, set for public use in 2027. The selected solutions will undergo research and prototyping until September 2023, followed by a year-long monitoring phase post-installation. The first project, Biochar, replaces traditional asphalt binders with plant-based materials, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and improving durability. The second project, RePavimenta, incorporates recycled construction materials, cutting emissions from material production by half. Each project team will receive €90,000 to support design, testing, and monitoring efforts.
