As of July 2026, voluntary pension funds (Pillar III) reached assets of 9.14 billion lei, marking a 40% increase from the previous year, according to the ASF report. Most investments were made locally, with 96% in lei. Contributions in July totaled 93 million lei, averaging 159 lei per contributor. Government bonds comprised the largest share of assets at 5.45 billion lei, followed by stocks at 2.90 billion lei and investment funds at 275.44 million lei. The funds under Pillar III include Azt Moderato, Azt Vivace, BCR Plus, and others.
