Artiștii răspund acuzațiilor PSD în scandalul statuii „Domnul Goe” din Ploiești

Artists involved in the colorful reinterpretation of the "Domnul Goe" statue in Ploiești responded to accusations from PSD Ploiești regarding ideological mutilation. They clarified that the work is part of the ARTOWN Now project, aiming to provide a contemporary take on Caragiale's character. The artists emphasized that the statue is not a historical monument and was designed to be an open journal of the city, repainted annually by different artists. The use of rainbow colors was explained as a means to bring energy and dynamism to the piece, unrelated to political symbols. The mayor also noted that the statue is privately funded and not part of the public domain, distancing it from LGBT associations. PSD Ploiești criticized the artistic intervention as an ideological offense against cultural symbols.
